Hello and Happy New Year to all members of Mikrobiologi.net!

Here is information about some important changes on the website:

1) We have activated all e-mail lists in the member profiles for all members. This means that everyone is now receiving emails from the following message categories:
- Information from your society
- Notice when news or events has been placed at your society's web
- Information from companies
- General information from mikrobiologi.net
- Notice when news or events has been placed at mikrobiologi.net's main homepage
We recommend that you keep your settings as they are now. If you feel that it is not interesting to receive e-mails when information about news and meetings is published, or other types of information, then you can actively opt out of these mailings by logging in to Mikrobiologi.net, go to your profile, and under Settings click Mailings. There you can choose which mailings you want to take part in. However, deselecting a mailing category means that you risk missing important information from your association or from Mikrobiologi.net.

2) Our mailings now take place via a 3rd party supplier, SendGrid, which will provide a more stable mailing function with an unlimited number of messages. If you notice that you do not receive notifications when news or meetings are published, we would apreciate if you let us know, so that we can help solve the problem. But start by checking that you have the current e-mail address registered in your member profile.

3) The message headers in the mailings for news and meetings are now the same as the titles on the web. You will thus no longer receive messages that have standard headings such as "Mikrobiologi.net News" and the like. Good to know if you have email filters based on this. The reason for this is that we have seen that several regions and universities have set central spam filters based on the previous standard headings, so that messages have been blocked before they have even reached the recipient's inbox. We hope that this problem has now been eliminated.

4) We have upgraded our text editor for HTML pages, which you who are webmasters can enjoy. We plan to provide the same editor to the form for member mailings, to make itt possible to write rich text member mailings. More about this later.

5) Mikrobiologi.net now uses secure connection. In technical terms, it is called Secure Socket Layer - SSL - and is visible by the pages' addresses starting with HTTPS. If you are interested in knowing more, you can visit this Link

Finally, a reminder: Make sure you keep track of your login information and have paid your annual fee to your association, so that you can take full advantage of your membership on Mikrobiologi.net. If you have problems with login, double member profiles or anything else, contact the personal data manager in your association in the first place, and me in the second place.
