                                                          Acting head of department of microbiology

 

2017 oct – 2021 oct                      Public Health Agency of Sweden
Deputy head and senior advisor at the department of microbiology, acting head of department. Responsible for coordination of the agencies laboratory preparedness projects related to high consequence pathogens. Responsible for several cross-sectoral collaborative preparedness projects, both national and international. Responsible for various international bilateral collaborations.

 

2015 nov – 2017 sep                     Public Health Agency of Sweden

                                                          Head of unit for the High containment laboratories. Unit with ~10 employees. Main focus of the unit was research relating to risk group 4 viruses as well as projects related to developing the laboratory preparedness. Unit coordinates or participates in several international research or preparedness projects. In addition, the unit is responsible for the operational management of the BSL 3 and BSL 4 laboratories.

                                                          Head of unit for Highly pathogenic viruses. Unit with ~20 employees working in or in conjunction to the BSL3 and BSL4 laboratory. Unit with similar mission as the Unit for Highly pathogenic microorganism (under the Swedish Institute for communicable disease control) but focusing solely on the high consequence viral pathogens.

                                                          Head of unit for Highly pathogenic microorganisms. Unit with ~40 employees working in or in conjunction to the BSL3 and BSL4 laboratories. The unit was responsible for developing and upholding microbiological preparedness including laboratory capacity and capability in the high containment laboratories. The unit performed diagnostics for the high consequence pathogens, conducted RnD-projects and participated actively in national and international projects aiming to increase the microbiological preparedness.
